Welcome Back to the Summer Term!

Easter seems to have flown over and we are back already for another, very short, half term.

The next 5 weeks promises to be an extremely busy one, with celebrations (May Day), a worship in church (this will take place in the last week of the half term although the exact date will follow later) and lots of new topics and new skills to master.

We will be working on a topic called Glorious Greeks this half term and the children will be investigating what life was like in Ancient Greece. We will be pulling in links to Geography and exploring the concept of chronology – where this period in time stands in relation to other important events and time periods like the Stone Age and the Ancient Egyptians that we studied last half term. We will also we working towards a sculpting project in Art where the children will be creating their own representation of Olympic athletes using wire!

Our PE slots for this half term will remain the same on Tuesdays and Fridays – although the way to avoid any disappointment or missed lessons is to leave the children’s PE kits in school for the rest of the half term and take them home in May for a good wash! They will need an indoor kit (shorts, T-shirt and pumps) and an outdoor kits (a pair of jogger bottoms and some trainers). We will benefit from the Sports Partnership coaches this half term and the children will be developing their gymnastic skills.

We will of course keep you updated with anything else you might need to know. We will use the Xpressions app to keep you informed of anything you might need to know as the term progresses and will update the website regularly to make sure you are kept in the loop.

So for now, enjoy the run up to Easter and please pop in at any point if there is anything that you want to ask, check or query – our doors are always open.
