Welcome to Year 5!

Welcome to the Summer term!

We have lots of fantastic activities going on this term, beginning with our St. George’s day celebrations on Monday 23rd April. During the afternoon, members of the community are welcome to come and join us in school for games, scones and a bit of Maypole dancing too.

In class we are moving onto explanation tasks based on life cycles. This week we have welcomed 5 new guests into class. Stuart, Bob, Dave, Jerry and Kevin. These are our class caterpillars that we will be looking after and observing as they go through their life cycle. In Maths we have lots more work to do on fractions and decimals. Our mathematical knowledge is growing every day.

Just a reminder- Homework and spellings will be going out on a Tuesday. Homework are to be returned before the following Monday at the very latest. Spellings will be tested every Tuesday. Also, all Year 5 children will be given a Guided Reading book and will have a Guided Reading session with me, Miss Hogan, each week. They will then be given a task to complete to be continued at home.  As part of their reading development, all children will be given a library book which will be changed as soon as they have finished. It would be greatly appreciated if you could share this book with your children.

Please look at our 'Come and look at us learning' section to see pictures of what we get up to in 5H.....

If you need anything at all please contact the school office or email me direct at:
