Hello and welcome to Ash Class' web page.

10/11/20 - I was very happy to welcome Ash Class back to school after what I'm sure must've been a particularly quiet (but relaxing) half-term holiday! Everybody settled back into our routine so well and were bright-eyed and ready to learn as soon as we started the register on Monday morning. This term, our phonics learning will really start to kick up a notch. We're nearing the end of our Phase 2 sounds (s ~ l), Phase 2 tricky words (the, to, no, go, I, into) and our Phase 2 high frequency words (a ~ off). It's so important that you practice what we've been learning at school every day. As the children become more confident in their blending skills, they should be reading a phonetically decodable book at least three times a week. I can't stress what an important step this is in their development! Autumn 2 is such a lovely term in Reception - you can definitely feel the magic in the air as it gets closer to Christmas... However, we've got lots of learning to enjoy before Santa comes to visit! cool
