Autumn 1


In English this term, we have read the story 'Six Dinner Sid', we then had a go at writing our own story by changing Sid to a different pet. We have also learnt about imperative verbs and had a go at following and then writing directions to find Sid.


During this term we been busy making numbers to 20, ordering numbers to 20, ordering numbers from 0 to 20, making numbers to 10 using a range of equipment.


This term in RE, we have learnt about Harvest and Friendship. We wrote Harvest poems, thanking God for our food. We learnt about what friendship looks like and who are friends are. After half-term, we will be learning about who Jesus' friends were. 


In Science this term, we have been learning about the different seasons. We learnt about what changes throughout the different seasons - the weather, plants, temperature, day length etc. The children investigated shadows and then made their own shadow puppet. 


In Art this term we have been developing our drawing skills. We have drawn items in the classroom, things outside the classroom, the school and the war memorial. 


In PSHE this term we have been learning about their feelings, friendship and bullying. We started this half term by bringing in our own Happiness Box, this was full of things that made us happy. We read The Colour Monster and created our own monster, we spoke about the different feelings the colour monster had.
