Take a look below at our learning in English and Phonics for Autumn term 1! In phonics we have begun to learn Phase 2 sounds, introducing and reviewing these through fun games and activities. In English, we have enjoyed ourselves studying different Julia Donaldson texts such as Room on the Broom and the Smeds and the Smoos, talking about characters, events and settings and making predictions about what could happen next in the story. We will then move onto texts about looking after ourselves and others, such as No Dragons For Tea and Hugasaurus, before finally finishing our term with some traditional tales about the Gingerbread Man and Little Red and the Lion. During continuous provision, we like to encourage children to further their learning independently or with an adult by accessing fun and interactive activities around the classrooms and the creative area. The children can find opportunities to develop their reading and mark making skills in every area of our setting.
Within God’s love for everyone, Our school family is committed to serve by:
- celebrating everyone’s unique God-given talents;
- giving the best of ourselves for all the world;
- doing all the good we can together.
