Meet the Team

Leyland Methodist Schools is committed to ensuring the welfare and safety of all our children in school.  We believe that pupils have a right to learn in a supportive, caring and safe environment which includes the right to protection from all types of abuse; where staff are vigilant for signs of any pupil in distress and are confident about applying the/our safeguarding processes to avert and alleviate any such problems.

Safeguarding is about ensuring that everyone is safe from harm – safe from bullying, safe from people who could abuse, safe from discrimination or harassment – and that we all feel safe in our environment.

If you are ever concerned about the safety or well-being of someone at our school please talk to our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL):

A Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is a key member of staff responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children within a school or organisation. Their main role is to oversee and manage safeguarding concerns, provide support and training to staff, and act as the main point of contact for child protection issues. They work closely with external agencies, such as social services and the police, to ensure appropriate action is taken when a child is at risk. The DSL must stay up to date with safeguarding policies and ensure the organisation complies with legal requirements, such as Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance.
