Thank you for considering Leyland Methodist Infant School as one of your primary school admissions choices. Information on this page is designed to support you in the application process and give a little taste of what life is like through the eyes of our pupils. Once school places have been allocated (March 2022), this page will also be used to provide details for our pupils starting with us next September.
All applications for starting school for the Reception Year 2022 are made via Lancashire County Council. Applications open 1st September 2021 for children starting school in September 2022. Please visit our Admissions section of our website for details about how to apply using the Key Info tab and Admissions can be found in the drop down menu.
Our pre-pandemic arrangements meant that we usually held our Open Afternoon during school hours and a team of our wonderful Year 6 pupils acted as your guide. I know prospective parents have really valued our older children's input into these tours. Sadly, we have not been able to do these during the pandemic. As of September 2021, the pandemic is still with us and, although some restrictions have been lifted, we still feel for the interest of safety for our school community that we cannot host visits during school session times nor resume our tours led by Year 6.
Our current plans are to host an Open Afternoon in early November, which will take place after school with plenty of staff on hand to answer questions. Of course, please understand these arrangements may need to change if COVID-19 regulations change or the number of local cases rise. Watch this space for further information and dates.
Whilst you are waiting for our November Open Afternoon, you may wish to view our Welcome Video, which is coming to this webpage soon. Again, please watch this space!
We were unable to meet the parents face-to-face for our New Starters' Information Meeting 2021 due to the pandemic, so we put together a short information video.
