Oak - Mr Nuttall

Autumn Term

Special visitor!
We had a lovely visit from Father Christmas today.
He left us a gorgeous book each for Christmas to keep and enjoy.

SPOILER ALERT!

We are loving our Christmas crafts today and will have a few special things to bring home tonight… ๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿป

In RE we have been investigating the Christmas story and why the birth of Jesus was such good news. Learning about the good news that the angels shared, we wondered what an angel might look like… these are some of our ideas that we made with clay!

A few photos of our tree decorating extravaganza. We had a great singalong to Christmas songs and performed ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’ together.

Oak Class loved making up-cycled angels for our school Christmas tree! We used old library books that had been read so many times , they were falling apart!

In our science this half term, we we are learning about materials and their properties. We started our topic with a visitor who came to teach us how to reduce, reuse and recycle... He taught us how to use recycled materials to create our own notebooks.

Our English this half term is based on Little Red Riding Hood and we have been learning the story using a story map and actions as part of our Talk for Writing scheme.

Look at these fabulous story maps!

Today, we had a visit from the Big Bad Wolf, who answered the questions that we have been writing.

We did a great job of using our question hand and using a question mark when writing!

PE days this half term will be:

 Monday and Friday

Can I ask that all children come to school in their PE kits on those days and  - no jewellery please!

Please see below the slides from our recent Meet the Teacher Evening. For anyone that missed it, you will find all of the information you need about Oak Class and what your child can expect this year.
