Oxford Owl

Due to the ongoing pandemic, we are unable to send our banded reading books home each week as normal. As such, we have subscribed to OxfordOwl's eBook library which has hundreds of books your child can read on a laptop or smart device. To access the online library, please follow the instructions below:

 

  1. Go to https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/
  2. Click the "My Class Login" pink button at the top of the page (if using a smartphone, click the menu button in the top right corner of the page to find the link for "My Class Login")
  3. Enter the username and password given to you via Seesaw
  4. Click "My Bookshelf" under the eBooks Library for Letters & Sounds section of the Pupil Homepage
  5. Hover over "Levels" in the top right corner, and sort the books according to "Letters and Sounds Phase"

 

Please remember that your child should practice reading at home at least three times a week.

From the Letters and Sounds Phases, please choose one or two of the following based on your child's confidence:

  • Phase 2, Set 2 (INMD) - Please read "Sid and Nim" with your child at least three times this week. Please complete the "before reading," "during reading" and "after reading" activities found on the inside cover and last page, respectively.
  • Phase 2, Set 3 (GOCK) - Please read "Cat in a Cap" with your child at least three times this week. Please complete the "before reading," "during reading" and "after reading" activities found on the inside cover and last page, respectively.
  • Phase 2, Set 4 (CKEUR) - Please read "Get Ant!" with your child at least three times this week. Please complete the "before reading," "during reading" and "after reading" activities found on the inside cover and last page, respectively.
  • Phase 2, Set 5 (HBFL) - Please read "Run, Tin Cat!" with your child at least three times this week. Please complete the "before reading," "during reading" and "after reading" activities found on the inside cover and last page, respectively.
