Curriculum

Our Curriculum

At Leyland Methodist Junior School, we aim to provide an exciting and enriched curriculum. The basic skills to enable our children to become increasingly literate and numerate are taught both as discrete subjects of English and mathematics and are also practised throughout the curriculum. In addition, Religious Education, Music and Physical Education also receive discrete teaching time. Other subjects are grouped into topics designed to engage children’s interest (see our curriculum map). Occasionally, children may be taught by a different teacher, who has a particular specialism e.g. Music, rather than their class teacher.
