Aspen Class

Welcome to Spring 1 in Year 3!

We have so many exciting things to do in the weeks ahead and cannot wait to continue our learning journey.

.

In English we are going to be developing our knowledge of writing a fictional story through exploring The Hodgeheg and create our own short adventure story including animals. We will also be using our geographical knowledge to write an explanation text about how volcanoes work!  In Maths, we will be practicing and developing our knowledge of multiplication and division, as well as adding to our knowledge of time and 3D shape.   In Science, we will investigate Rocks and Fossils using both theoretical and practical strategies, which we will apply to some observational drawings and prints of fossils in our Art lessons.

Please make sure you view our 'Learning' tab below to follow our curriculum adventures - there are lots of pictures celebrating the children's learning journeys, as well as useful links and resources to support any learning at home.

Important information:

PE is on Wednesdays and Fridays  (Please can children wear their full PE kit to school - Fridays will be outdoor);

Homework will be given out on the first day back, it will consist of three booklets (English, Maths and Topic) which all have a task to complete for each week. The booklets will be handed back to school on the last day of half term.

Spelling words will given out on Tuesday and tests will be the following Monday;

Monday afternoons Aspen  Class will be taught  by Mrs Tetley.
