Our Curriculum

EYFS Curriculum Intent

At Leyland Methodist Schools, it is our intention to provide an Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum that is; AMBITIOUS- not only with teaching and learning standards, but also behaviour and most importantly, outcomes for our children.

Our unique and tailor-made curriculum aims to provide a RICH, LANGUAGE-FILLED, SAFE and DIVERSE environment. One which encourages EVERY child in our care to achieve THEIR potential, regardless of their starting points in life.

We want our children to:

  • Learn to nurture others and to feel nurtured themselves
  • Get messy and enjoy doing it!
  • Develop a love of learning and to be able to articulate that in a range of ways
  • Ooze curiosity about the world around them
  • Develop a sense of excitement about their environment
  • Foster a sense of adventure which leads them to be eager about exploration
  • Develop their self-awareness and esteem to FEEL LOVED and to LOVE OTHERS.
