OPAL is up and running- thank you to those who've provided waterproofs and wellies! Also, if you haven't downloaded the My Happy Mind parent app, give it a go- there's lots of useful resources.

Poplar - Miss Motala

Welcome to Year 5

Welcome back! We hope you have all had a well-rested and enjoyable Easter break and are now ready

for our first Summer term in Y5.

As always, our curriculum is enriched with many exciting learning opportunities.

In English, we will be time travelling to 1931 in Paris as we immerse ourselves in our fiction narrative on Hugo Cabret. The film version of Hugo is available on Netflix should you want to watch it with your child.

In Science, we will be developing our scientific enquiry skills and exploring the extensive wealth of knowledge that there is to know of the Amazon Rainforest in Geography.

We love to share our learning with Parents/Guardians, therefore, please ensure you are checking for regular updates on class DOJO and ‘Our Learning’ tab on our class page on the school website.

Important Information:

  • Swimming is on a Tuesday and Indoor PE on Thursday.
  • Please ensure that your child attends school in their correct PE kit (red PE jumper/white t-shirt/ black shorts/joggers/black trainers or pumps).
  • Homework will be provided weekly on a Tuesday and will need to be submitted by the following Monday. Spellings will be tested on the following Monday.
  • Reading is a literary portal into an alternate dimension; therefore, 20 minutes of reading per night is recommended.

If you have any questions, please contact me via Dojo or email.
