Welcome to Year 5

Welcome back! Time has certainly flown by this year as we are now entering our final half term in Year 5.

As always, our curriculum is enriched with many exciting learning opportunities.

In History, we will be time travelling through the years to analyse Britain since 1066.

Within our DT unit, children will be developing their knowledge of resistant materials as they design, make and evaluate a personalised keyring for a new starter EYFS child joining LMS in September.

We love to share our learning with Parents/Guardians, therefore, please ensure you are checking for regular updates on class DOJO and ‘Our Learning’ tab on our class page on the school website.

Important Information:

• Swimming is on a Tuesday and Indoor PE on Thursday.
• Please ensure that your child attends school in their correct PE kit (red PE jumper/white t-shirt/ black shorts/joggers/black trainers or pumps).
• Homework will be provided weekly on a Tuesday and will need to be submitted by the following Monday. Spellings will be tested on the following Monday.
• Reading is a literary portal into an alternate dimension; therefore, 20 minutes of reading per night is recommended.
